We would like to thank all our participants who attended and contributed to our Cake Workshop, especially Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yazıcı, Vice Rector of Alanya University, who did not leave us alone today.
Welcome
Dear Students
In today's world, with the Gastronomy sector being extremely popular, the profession of "cookery" has gained great prestige. Today, the art of eating and drinking is professionalising day by day in Turkey as in the whole world.
The increase in eating and drinking habits and the importance of gastronomy tourism increase the demand for trained cooks. On the other hand, cook candidates prefer the relevant departments of universities in order to have many opportunities such as ease of employment opportunities in the sector, working with high wages, and the opportunity to work abroad.
Alanya University Vocational School Cookery Programme not only trains professionals who can cook, but also trains cooks who are creative by blending the cultural heritage of our country with scientific techniques, who are aware of the importance of nutrition, who know the history of food culture, who know the importance of the subject in terms of health and nutrition. In addition, thanks to our curriculum compatible with the sector, our students who graduate from our programme have the opportunity to transfer to four-year undergraduate programmes such as gastronomy and culinary arts, nutrition and dietetics.
Our graduates can find the opportunity to work in all institutions that provide mass nutrition, as well as in the kitchens of all food and beverage departments of airports, hotel establishments, cruise ships. At our university, we are always with you with our lecturers who are experts in their fields and have sectoral experience.
In our fully equipped kitchens designed as basic kitchen and pastry kitchen, we welcome our chef candidates who can be the gastronomy ambassadors of the future and introduce Turkish cuisine to the world in the best way to Alanya, the gateway of tourism and gastronomy to the world, and to the Cookery Department of Alanya University.
